Greetings – If you need a break from all the . . . #!%# this week, come on over to Caffe Lena and take a seat at any one of the shows we’ve lined up for you. Enter a world where people are making music, listening, giving their best effort, and creating beauty. Every one one of these concerts is at the “Wow!” level.

I also strongly encourage you to pick up a pen or an instrument and create something of your own. Keep it under lock and key if that’s what you need to do. Or come share it with a jam circle, or songwriting club, or on the open mic stage. We’d love to hear what you made!

See you at the show,
Sarah

On tour in support of her new album, Yasmin is fresh off an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and NPR Tiny Desk. Her unorthodox guitar style uses alternate tunings, percussive hits, and lap tapping to great effect. Her “radiant sound and adventitious origins have made her a key figure in a diverse dawn for the solo guitar” (The New York Times). Her music has been described as rich, harmonious, and “in a lot of ways, the joy and possibility she brings to the guitar reminds me more of Eddie Van Halen than any of the other fingerstyle guitarists to whom she’s compared.” (NPR Music)

Sample Song Oshima Brothers | Sample Song Madeleine Roger | In-Person Tickets | Watch on Caffe Lena TV

Open-hearted alt-pop with exhilarating, almost unbelievably smooth vocal harmonies and groovy guitar lines. With keys, bass, violin and looping, they create a sonic experience that is contemporary, danceable and yet full of poetic observation about big things going on in the world. They’ll be dancing and playing later in the weekend at The Flurry Festival, happening throughout the weekend at Saratoga City Center.

Sample Song Heather Maloney  | Sample Song High Tea | In-Person Tickets | Watch on Caffe Lena TV

Stitched together from personal and universal ecstasy, loss both intimate and ancient, Maloney’s tremulous folk, existential ballads, and assertive rock is “utterly gorgeous, visceral.” –New York Times

Northampton duo High Tea opens with charming, harmony-driven folk-pop.
